Here is a link to our website outlining our OB project.

We are building a double mudbrick timberframe house which is proving to be a very interesting and challenging project for us.

Thought it might we of interest to other OB's out there....

Thanks Donna. We are really happy with our results so far. Looking forward to getting on with laying the mudbricks in March.

For those who may be interested in timberframe houses, I have finally had a chance to do an update of photos on our project website,

Thankfully there is now light at the end of the long tunnel we have been looking down for too many years!

You are doing a fantastic job on your place, you should be really proud of what you have built as it is a beautiful and unique home. You are so much further along than I am with my project but I can still appreciate the amount of work that has gone into your place and can only hope to get to your end of the tunnel

Steve

Thanks for your positive comments Steve.

Your build looks as though it is tracking along nicely. You are showing great attention to detail, it looks fantastic.

All the work will be worth it, when we can sit back and look at it all and be happy with your own patch on this earth.

Ilze,

Your website makes a very interesting read. That timber frame is spectacular. It goes well with the mud bricks and the pine lining boards with merbau trim are well worth the effort.

It is good to read that even with all of the delays and difficulties you are still finding it a rewarding experience and that you can still celebrate the reaching of milestones.

Keep up the good work. It is looking great!

Bluey.

Thanks Bluey.

It has been an interesting journey. We've had our highs and lows but it would be boring if everything went to plan!

Your project amazes me. I don't think I would have the patience to put up and pull down formwork all the time. The results of all your work are looking really good.

After a visit from the building inspector, I'm pleased to report we've received our Certificate of Occupancy in the mail this week. What a relief!
We still have some finishing touches but all really achievable.

We have already had two family Christmas celebrations in the house so it is fair to say it has been road tested and passed with flying colours.

I think it is fair to say that it is the best Christmas present ever. After 5 years of slog we have actually got our C of O and life can get back to some normality, whatever that is. I think I have forgotten what normal is..

All the best to you all for Christmas and New Year, and for the ongoing OB's out there, there is hope!

BTW, I haven't updated my website pics for sometime so I'll devote some time these holidays to update them.
